Litchfield Cavo LLP (LC) has extensive experience defending and litigating a wide array of class action claims in both state and federal courts in many jurisdictions across the country, including claims against financial institutions and credit unions.
Litchfield Cavo LLP is looking to hire a full-time associate for its class action practice who is admitted to practice law in Illinois (required) and the Illinois Federal Courts (preferred). Knowledge of or admittance in other jurisdictions a plus. Interested candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, research and analytical expertise, strong attention to detail, superb organization and prioritization skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A minimum of four years licensing is required and class action experience is preferred.
Responsibilities will be substantial and will cover all phases of class action litigation, with the associate expected to immediately assume significant responsibility in ongoing cases. Specifically, the associate is expected to conduct legal research; review extensive client documents; draft legal documents (including correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions, orders, and legal memoranda); interact directly with clients and opposing counsel; assist with and potentially participate in local and out-of-state depositions, mediations, and court hearings. LC provides a supportive and collaborative working environment, with partners, counsel, and experienced associates.
