Sadhu Johnston Resigns

Just two years after accepting the newly created position of Chief Environmental Officer for the City of Chicago, Sadhu Johnston announced Monday, August 31st that he is stepping down.

He is taking a position as deputy city manager of Vancouver, BC Canada. Johnston has dual U.S. and Canadian citizenship and has family in Vancouver.

Before his appointment as Chief Environmental Officer reporting to the Mayor, Johnston served as Commissioner of the Department of the Environment.

DOE has launched several significant initiatives during Johnston's tenure, including the Green Permit Program, the City's Climate Action Plan and the Green Office Challenge.
